Paradores is a chain of Spanish hotels that combines amazing buildings, dramatic settings and elegant decor with a great dining experience. Now, if you’re planning a destination wedding in Spain, doesn’t this sound like the perfect combination of elements for your big day?
We’ve brought together 10 amazing locations for Parador hotels all over Spain. At Zankyou, we love romance and think there’s nothing more dreamy than a getting married in a castle of all places. So here are 10 real-life castles where you can get married in Spain.
The Palacio Conde de Gomar in Galicia, north-west Spain, is an amazing medieval fort looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean. Not only will the views make for an amazingly romantic day, but you will also be spoilt with the great food, including hotel specialities cooked lobster and amazing local beef.
Joining this amazing palace is a host of beautiful buildings. The Parador de Olite in Navarra is a 15th-century building that has its very own medieval towers and brick walls. And just to add to the romance, some of the rooms even have four-poster beds!
With two spaces for holding weddings, the Parador de Olite is a very nice choice if you’re looking for medieval romance.
Meanwhile, up there fighting for first place in the romance stakes are the Paradores in Jarandilla de la Vera (Cáceres) and Sigüenza (just 1.5 hours from Madrid by car).
Bishops and kings have stayed in the 11th-century castle that is now home to the Parador de Sigüenza, while no less than Emperor Carlos V stayed at the palace in Jarandilla de la Vera. Both Paradores are in beautiful locations and if you decide to hold your destination wedding there, you can expect to receive all the necessary help with your planning.

The range of services that Paradores offer is wide and includes ultra-trendy candy bars, special room prices for your guests, brunch the day after the wedding as well as all the other services you’d expect from a top hotel chain like Paradores.
Another two castles that we think are beautiful Spanish destination wedding locations are the Paradores in Cardona and Jaen.
Just over an hour’s drive from Barcelona, the Parador in Cardona is located on a hill in a 9th-century fort. You can have a civil wedding in the castle itself or just your reception in one of its four dedicated spaces.

The Parador in Jaen, southern Spain, not only lets you enjoy the amazing climate of Andalucia, but has room for almost 300 guests. Local delicacies for your reception combine with dramatic surroundings to create a truly fantastic experience.

If you’re looking for a Parador with a tower as a backdrop for your photos, what about the Parador de Ciudad Rodrigo, near the Portuguese border. We also really like the Parador de Zafra, housed in a 16th-century castle with its surprisingly modern-designed rooms and the huge Santa María function room that holds up to 270 guests.

While not exactly a castle, the amazing Parador de Santo Estevo de la Riba in Galicia is another beautiful location for your destination wedding. This 10th-century Benedictine monastery has beautiful cloisters that will look amazing in your photos and are perfect if you want a wedding with that touch of medieval mystery.
And finally, a modern castle for you architecture lovers out there. The Parador de Lorca in south-eastern Spain has been built on the site of the old castle and you can still see some of the ruins within the building. The Parador has various function rooms, with room for between 70 and 400 guests, making the hotel a perfect destination for all types of gatherings.
