Imagine a mystical place emerging from the scene of modern Mexico, where ancient roots and sacred rituals intertwine in an international confluence of cultures… this is Palmaïa. The House of AïA is a resort located between the vegetation of the tropical jungle and the picturesque turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean, within the private community of Playacar in Playa del Carmen. Our guests can choose between a sacred temple on the beach, a hidden cenote, ruins immersed in the rainforest, bamboo structures facing the beach, the mangrove swamp and a circular ritual terrace surrounded by nature, all outdoors.

For us, AïA is our very own connection to nature. A two-sided mirror that reflects our true inner self. We base our philosophy on six important principals: natural inclusion, balance, self-expression, nonviolence, participation, and respect.

We are a community of unconventional thinkers and spiritual seekers who come together to dedicate ourselves to creativity, music and the environment. Together we are creating a new modern collective consciousness”. – The House of AïA.

The founder and creator of Palmaïa, Alexander Ferri, designed the resort based on his own lifestyle, with the belief that self-exploration and respect for nature and community are key for bringing people together. The resort is a place where visitors can find personal growth through sacred rituals, unique culinary creations, and soul-searching ceremonies.

At the resort, you are encouraged to respect not only yourself but the community and nature, allowing you to go back to the basics – to ground yourself, recharge yourself, and adjust your lifestyle how you need in order to achieve true happiness. An example of how the resort accommodates for your beliefs was when one of our brides was looking for somewhere that offered vegan or vegetarian menus as she is vegan, however she couldn’t find anywhere that offered them. After a long search she finally found The House of AïA, and she liked the philosophy of the resort. The resort was able to modify their menus according to her wishes, as like her, many guests are looking for places that respect their beliefs and lifestyle habits, reflecting values of our modern society.

The resort is also taking steps in regards to sustainability, looking to be more environmentally friendly, which is something we love to see in today’s society. First, they seek what inspires each couple; what is their dream, what motivates them, and finally they seek to use solely organic materials rather than plastic, in order to take care of the environment. Their goal is also to be one of the first resorts to neutralize its carbon emissions.
