Castles, farms, estates and beautiful country houses. There are lots of original and rural locations that can be adapted for the perfect 21st century wedding celebrations. One of the most legendary rural locations for a wedding can be found in Zaragoza. The Restaurante El Molino de San Lázaro is steeped in history.
An unusual setting
Unusual and highly original, this is the perfect spot holding an extra special wedding. The building of El Molino de San Lázaro (Saint Lazarus’ Windmill) was completed in the eighteenth century, after it was rebuilt in a new location. However, experts believe that the original structure was built as early as the sixth century, an era during which the mindmill known as El Molino de Sal (The Salt Mill) was subjected to structural and functional modifications.
Nowadays the mill is perfectly adapted for celebratory events. It has three distinct floors all suited to the various different parts of a wedding and the reception party. Surrounding the building is stunning landscape and views for miles.
Authenticity and Intimacy
The bottom floor is particularly atmospheric and is where some of the original structure can be seen through glass panels, perfectly combining the old with the new. It is perfect for intimate and typically romantic weddings with a capacity for around 60 people.
Banqueting from above
The main banquets take place on the second floor, where some of the best views of the Basílica del Pilar and the River Ebro can be enjoyed. On the second floor there is enough space for upto 200 people to indulge. The stunning views can also be enjoyed from the outside too, from the building’s gorgeous little balconies.
Parties like no other
Up top, the Mill’s attic is reserved for parties of around 70 people and is the ideal place for partying on into the night. With its high ceilings and natural light, the space is unique and undeniably special. Zaragoza’s two jewels, the basilica and the river can also be admired from the third floor and serve as a beautiful reminder of the history that surrounds you.
Services
The restaurant’s own food is highly regarded and costs between 95 and 135 euros per head for the works! They have a range of menus and will also supply decorations for the tables and the room itself. Alternatively ‘One and Only Day’ is a large and expert wedding planning company which the El Molino de San Lázaro also works with closely. They are renowned for organising incredible parties where everything has been thought of and no detail spared. They are experts at decking out the mill in whatever sort of style you wish, allowing you to enjoy perfectly personalised surroundings – no request is too large for One and Only Day.

El Molino de San Lázaro’s commitment to looking after those getting married is remarkable, and they will always go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that everything is just as you have always imagined it.
