Who are Bkatch Music and Events?
Bkatch Music and Events is a group of experienced, passionate entertainment planners, full time professional musicians, singers, DJs, and sound and lighting technical experts. They specialise in luxury weddings and events, and are based in Verona, Como and Siena, Italy.

How did the group begin?
The name of the group was born from the initials of the founders of BKatch Events and Music; Hillary, and I, Barbara. Initially, we started working together by promoting Hillary’s artistic and musical business, specifically working with a genre of music called Swing Manouche, a very popular style amongst the Italian Jazz scene.
How would you describe your work and your style?
Meticulous, creative, exciting, and most importantly, FUN! We can perform pretty much every genre you can think of: Jazz, Swing, Folk, Country, Rock, Pop and even Funky Band. Not only can we provide such a range of styles, but we can guarantee that all performances will be of the highest quality. Bkatch only provide the best of the best. This year, 20s/30s Swing, Blues and Soul have really been trending, so if you are wondering which styles to pick for your wedding day, why not have a listen to these? The YouTube video at the beginning of the article is a fantastic example of a Bkatch performance of classic songs of the 20s and 30s, swing, folk, Irish, rock n’ roll and swing.

What has been the biggest challenge you have faced in your career?
We face daily challenges and I always consider them great challenges and invaluable experiences because every single couple deserves the most from us, and the more challenges we face, the better we get. We learn from every single performance, and we have been providing wedding entertainment for 20 years. That is a lot of experience. Our daily challenge is to constantly better ourselves.

Is there a limit for how long your services can be hired?
We do not set a minimum or maximum time, we will be there for the couple when they need and want us, for as little or as long as they require.
Can the themes be changed throughout the day?
Of course, I would add that it is one of our most appreciated features. I often recommend to spouses to “modulate” the day by choosing different musical genres, to create just the right mood.
Do you usually attend small or large weddings?
We attend weddings of any size as our equipment and our vast array of services allow us to satisfy every need and every crowd, no matter the size.
How far in advance should you be contacted?
At least 6 months before the wedding date. Organisation is key for a flawless performance. We also want to be able to devote our time to you and only to you on your day.
What advice do you have for planning the entertainment?
Always rely on trusted, recommended entertainment professionals, like BKatch Events and Music.
Do you have any special packs for newlyweds?
We tailor all our jobs to fit our client’s specific requests and preferences, so packs are not necessary. We like to build a relationship with our clients to discover exactly what we think would suit them best based on their plans for their wedding and their budget. We like to merge our expertise with the visions of our clients to make the perfect fusion for the perfect performance.
What is your price range?
Between medium and high – it depends on what you require.
Finally, what are the best and funniest moments the group has experienced?
We were in Venice for a luxury event in a wonderful Palazzo from the 1400s. After the ceremony, there was a beautiful parade, accompanied by an accordion and a guitar, with the bride and groom and guests walking alongside. The parade went between the Calle and Piazza San Marco, which was full of Japanese tourists, who began to follow us and film us, and they actually stayed with us until we reached the pier, where the water taxi was waiting for us. The impromptu procession was really fun and it was so emotional to see how simple, marvellous music, of just a guitar and an accordion managed to stir people’s minds and curiosity.
We form great relationships with our clients, and it often happens that such a connection is also created between the musicians and the audience to amplify such a truly magical moment. We cherish the memory of every wedding we have performed at, it is our honour to make our clients happy on their special day.
