Among wedding venues, villas are becoming increasingly popular because they give weddings an unparalleled elegance and sophistication. Villa Giovanelli Fogaccia is located in Rome and is a marvellous historic residence, distinguished by a unique style, with 8 hectares of Italian gardens, a romantic lake where you can dance in the starry nights and princely and refined interiors. From the moment you step into this place, you will have no doubt about choosing it as a magical location for your wedding day.
The protection of the relic of Santa Croce
Villa Giovanelli Fogaccia is elegant and unique, currently the residence of Principi Giovanelli, located between Via Aurelia and Via Boccea, built by the architect Marcello Piacentini and inaugurated by King Vittorio Emanuele III in 1938.
It is a few kilometres away from St. Peter’s and is situated next to Borgata Focaccia, which was established after a series of land reclamation and agricultural transformations.
The unscathed endurance of the Second World War has been attributed, over the years, to the presence of the relic of Santa Croce, which protects the property and gives it additional charm.
Here, in fact, are Count Fogaccia‘s words:
It seems miraculous. The war was fought here. The cannons roared: the Allies from Pineta Sacchetti, the Germans from Borgata. Bullets whistled. The garden was scattered with projectiles. Tanks, machine guns, various wrecks in the avenues, the meadows, under the trees. Doors and windows riddled with holes. The farmhouse resisted, and the storm of war, which it was engulfed in, left it intact. Only the porter’s lodge and the entrance gate were destroyed by a bomb.
In this enchanting Roman villa, on your wedding day, you will have access to numerous spaces, including:
- 4 indoor halls;
- an impressive villa facade;
- a paved courtyard;
- a lawn with a lake and an islet;
- an 8-hectare park with Italian and Mediterranean gardens;
- large car park for over 500 cars.
Over the years, additional buildings were added to the old central limestone tower, and today, the history of this place is visible in the “sampietrini” of the entrance courtyard, the cornices, and the travertine staircase, the wooden fixtures, or the stuff found here and there. In short, it is a villa that offers you the charm of the modern and the wonder of history.
Moreover, it is the ideal location to host business meetings, conferences, baptisms, communions, or any other type of event you need to organise in a dreamlike setting, just a few steps away from Rome.
Villa Giovanelli Fogaccia is unquestionably the perfect venue for couples like you who seek a unique wedding villa that offers relaxation, refinement, and elegance, all within a short distance from the city.
