Villa Cortine was built at the end of the 19th century, when Count von Koseritz bought the 5-hectare park and commissioned the construction of a grand villa with a neoclassical design. The villa takes its name from the hill on which it stands, the Sirmione peninsula, where a Roman military garrison once stood. Even then, the beauty of the lake and its thermal waters attracted many visitors. In 1953, the villa became a luxury hotel and was expanded to create what is now the main body of the hotel.
The exterior of the Villa features a neoclassical style, with grand supporting columns.
