It was thanks to the exquisite service of the wedding planner Cláudia Sousa, from Claudia de Sousa Weddings, that the couple Nery and Júlia celebrated their union in a beautiful location in the Algarve. We spoke with them to find out what it was like to organize the wedding at a distance and how the consultant helped them to fulfill their dream of exchanging rings in one of the most stunning spots on the Portuguese coast. Did you know that a love story only happens when it has to? So it was for Júlia and Nery, who encountered two chances to get to know each other in just over six months. “The first was at the beginning of the second semester of 2016, at the college where I was studying Law. He had been assigned to administer a test in the room next to mine and he saw me pass in the hallway, left the room to talk, but he couldn’t find me anymore“, says Júlia.
It was only in the following year that fate tried to bring the future couple together once again. “He was at a friend’s gym, which happened to be the one where I trained on weekdays. And he ran into me there!“

The marriage proposal took place in August 2020 during a trip to Porto de Galinhas, in Pernambuco. “We stayed in a magnificent hotel and everything was orchestrated by him with great care and love. Upon waking up, he surprised me with a bouquet of sunflowers, a spectacular breakfast and a pair of wedding rings! I confess that I didn’t think of any other answer than YES!“, says Júlia.
Choosing the dream scenario
At the time of their engagement, the couple lived in Manaus, but he had an address in Porto, Portugal, and he always talked to his lover about the beauties of the country. “My husband was already living in Porto when I met him, however, he returned to live in Brazil so that I could complete my degree. Since I met him, he has been advertising for Portugal. After ten months together, I decided to go discover the country and I was delighted! The people, the security, the cuisine, the beaches, the castles… Portugal is a box of surprises!“, says the bride.

With the location defined, the bride and groom went in search of a wedding planner in Portugal to help them. When searching here, in Zankyou, they found Claudia de Sousa Weddings, which, according to the bride, was fundamental to organize their wedding in a very short time, from another continent and in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wow, that made us really excited to have her with us”, says Julia.
She fully trusted the wedding planner’s work in every step towards the altar. “The whole experience was very smooth, from hiring Cláudia, who has incredible light, to choosing the hotel for the wedding. We believe that good people attract good things!“, she adds.
