Beautifully set in the Hérault and on the banks of the river of the same name, Château Rieutort is a jewel of beauty nestled in lush greenery. This elegant wine estate, built in 1755, was initially the summer residence of one of Napoleon’s generals. Today, and since 2012, it hosts various events such as weddings, birthdays and business meetings.
Whilst entering the gates of the château, you will be struck by its surroundings. The estate is nestled in a green park of 2.5 hectares, and 30 hectares of vineyards. It is indeed a calm, poetic and romantic setting that helps make any wedding unforgettable. In these green spaces, you can have an intimate ceremony and also hold a reception for hundreds should you so choose. To ensure maximum protection in case of the Herault’s rare rain, a marquee can be installed in the park.
Whether you are thinking of an intimate or large-scale wedding, every love story can find its home at Château Rieutort. The reception room has a capacity of 115 seated guests. Many more can be accommodated instead in your marquee in the park.
The château chef will be happy to cook for up to 60 guests. You have a free choice of external chef for larger numbers. Either way you will have the choice of delicious and traditional or nouveau cuisine for you and your guests. Either way your meal will be accompanied by the Domaine’s irresistible wines, which win numerous international awards every year. In addition, a guided visit to the cellar of the estate will take you and your guests into another world of intrigue and luxury. Getting married at Château Rieutort allows you to host a good many of your guests on site. The property includes seven gites and 5 château rooms and suites which together can accommodate some 65 guests.
And the icing on the cake? The château has recently opened a spa accessible to you and your guests. A giant jacuzzi, sauna, and two massage rooms await the newlyweds and their guests to relax before or after the festivities. Those who prefer to bask in the sun can enjoy the property’s two outdoor pools.
