The streets of Oporto and the Intercontinental Hotel served as the perfect setting to display the elegance and charm of Gio Rodrigues‘ wedding dresses, in this editorial carried out by Zankyou for Zankyou Editor’s Choice. Rui Teixeira Wedding Photography was responsible for all the images in the editorial, with Rui and Nuno Teixeira assisting in photography and Ricardo Teixeira on video.
The Dream Team was made up of Sofia Tregeira (jewellery), Diana Pereira Make Up (make-up) and the K Urban team (hairdressing) to complete the wedding look, while all the dresses and shoes came from Gio Rodrigues Atelier. To add the finishing touches, Kitschnet created the stationary for the occasion and Handmade Stories enchanted us with their incredible vintage albums.
The aim of this shoot was to convey the elegance and charm of the models wearing the new Gio Rodrigues Atelier collection. For this reason, we chose four different models in order to be able to portray four types of bride.
Let’s begin, shall we?

The first model chosen by the stylist was Julie. This is an elegant wedding dress in a Robe Manteau style. This model exudes charm and is perfect for a more classic bride, for an intimate wedding and for a civil ceremony. Made from silk mousseline, its V-neck, semi-transparent back and generous split give it a seductive finishing touch, characteristic of Gio Rodrigues‘ collections. Julie also has impressive stone embellishment around the waist.
Nubia was the second wedding dress. This princess-style wedding dress is perfect for a more traditional, romantic bride having a religious ceremony and who intends to throw a big wedding. The deep neckline covered with crystals and stonework that extend to the shoulders add a touch of elegance.
The stairway of the Hotel Intercontinental surrendered to the charms of the sensual two-piece model created by the stylist Gio Rodrigues: an incredible crop-top made of embroidered stones and wide trousers in mousseline. This design is called Layia and is perfect for a bold bride, with personality, who seeks sensuality from her dress, without neglecting elegance. There are several versions of this model and it’s adaptable to various types of bride!
Finally, Carya is a dazzling, flowing wedding dress in chiffon and covered in stonework! For a glamorous bride, looking for a sparkly and luxurious look, this model is one of our favourites. Its V-neck gives it the sensual touch that makes it one of the most charming and glamorous Gio Rodrigues dresses in the collection.
What do you think of the choices made by the designer and Zankyou? Which style best suits yours? Whether you are a glamorous and diva-esque bride or a more traditional and demure one, Gio Rodrigues will have you covered!
