Which Of These Types Of Honeymoon Should You Choose?

Deciding how and where to honeymoon is one of the most important parts of organising a wedding. After hosting your nearest and dearest at what (finger crossed) will have been the greatest celebration of the year, you’ll definitely need some time to relax in your happy place.

But, you don’t have to have gotten married to honeymoon in a beautiful place. Taking the time to relax after big events or announcements is important to keep yourself grounded, and above all, happy! So why limit yourself to just one honeymoon in a lifetime? There are a myriad of different types of honeymoons.

Post-Engagement Honeymoon

In life every happy moment deserves a celebration. So, if you’ve recently gotten engaged, and you want to continue riding  why stay at home? Take yourself and your partner to a special place that means a lot to the both of you. Perhaps visit the place where you first met, or the place you first visited together. After all, there’s nothing like a celebration of love, so if you’ve found it, why not celebrate it?

Pre-Honeymoon

A trip before your wedding day, whether it be big or small, is a great idea if you’re wanting to calm those last minute nerves and alleviate some stress from the arduous organising.

If this is the case, why not opt for a relaxing trip to a spa, the beach or a small city break with a rooftop pool? You’ll definitely thank yourself for it, especially if your post-wedding honeymoon is a few weeks or months after the big day.

Pre-Pregnancy Honeymoon

Making the decision to get pregnant is undoubtedly one of the most important decisions you’ll make in your lifetime. So before you do so you may want to celebrate your final few months as the two of you with a romantic trip.

Being without children means you have full choice of the type of honeymoon so there are no restrictions as to where you can go. This being said, you may want to make the most of it by finally getting round to go on the trip of a lifetime down under, or road tripping around your favourite country.

Similarly, if you’ve just found out your pregnant, but are keeping it just between the two of you for the time being, this could be a really special trip to celebrate that. And, trust us, this may be the last time you can celebrate without having to organise babysitting duties!

Solo Pre-Wedding Honeymoon

This may at first seem odd to take a trip on your own before your wedding day, but if you’re planning a big wedding, taking time to be completely alone may be exactly what you need.

If you’re prone to getting nervous, or don’t feel 100% comfortable surrounded by lots of people, travelling solo may give you that crucial time to prepare your mind and body.

Doing what makes you happy, even if it be for only a couple of days, can really prepare you for the big day. Don’t forget, you may be marrying your best friend, but that doesn’t mean you have to forget all of your independence. Remember – giving 100% to your marriage must be matched by giving 100% to yourself for a successful marriage!

Forget the old ways of only one honeymoon, a moment of happiness, whether that be a pregnancy or a promotion, is always worth celebrating. But how will you do it?
