Paris Haute Couture 2015 - A Catwalk of Bridal Inspiration

  • Fashion week

Each year, Paris plays host to the world’s leading fashion designers and lovers of their creations. The event is a hugely anticipated and important calendar date in the world of fashion. Haute Couture Week, which took place last week in the city of light (or city of love as we prefer to call it) displayed incredible styles for chic wedding guests and spectacular bridal gowns that took our breath away and we just had to it share them you. We’ve chosen a few of our favourite, sophisticated and elegant designs to show you.

This first design by Alexis Mabille made up of a fine lace, mermaid cut dress with a strapless neckline, fits itself to the body creating an incredibly elegant and sensual silhouette. Accompanied by a sleeveless cape style coat with giant volume adding a regal and opulent finish to the whole look.

This second design by Elie Saab evokes pure fairy tale. A princess cut gown with a giant, voluminous skirt that adds magic to the catwalk. It really is spectacular with its pale pink hue, detailed encrustations in a variety of tones and a plunging V neckline. Accompanied by a fine, cathedral length veil that adds an even more glamorous finish to the whole look. A stunning and very unique bridal gown for a daring and fun bride.

We can’t fail to mention the king of Parisian fashion – Chanel. Staying loyal to their classic style, Chanel showed us some extremely feminine brides. Our favourite was this two piece design with a detailed skirt forming a floral frame in pink and white tones, finishing with a short train, short sleeves and an intricately beaded box neckline. Complementing the look, elbow length, fingerless gloves and a giant tulle hairpiece.

Jean Paul Gaultier surprised us yet again with this original design inspired by two completely different looks. On one side, a fitted, sleeveless gown and on the other, a fitted strapless bodice and an ankle length tulle skirt. Incredibly unique yet very sophisticated.

This spectacular design by Lawrence Xu caused a complete sensation. Made up of a sweetheart, embroidered neckline and a giant princess cut skirt with detailed beading on the bodice. All of this accompanied by a very understated hairpiece.

We continue with this gown designed by Ralph and Russo, very elegant and sober on the lower part with an attention seeking, off the shoulder neckline. We think this would look incredible with a huge statement necklace to really take this look to another level.

Lastly, but by no means least, the bridal gown that closed the show by Zuhair Murad was this impressive princess cut design with a mix of tulle, silk and silver embroidery, accompanied by a veil in the same tone and an impressive crown. A very special and unique dress to end with.

We hope that these chic designs have inspired you for your dream bridal looks. They may seem expensive and unobtainable for your every day bride, but the great thing is, many high street bridal designers will be adopting these haute couture designs and bringing them to life in their own collections… hooray to that!
