We have to admit that at Zankyou, when we think of Destination Weddings, Lithuania is not the first place that springs to mind. However, from having the opportunity to look at the work of the tremendously talented Motiejus, a wedding photographer who works all over the world, we are now convinced that this could be one of the up and coming countries for your wedding abroad, or your private elopement. Located within the Baltics, Lithuania is among the smaller, but most picturesque, European nations, and the town where Karolina and Martyn were married is a shining example of this.
Nida is a town of contrasts: with the sea on one side, and a valley of forests and dunes on the other, it provides several distinctive places for a ceremony and photography. Much like the population of the town, Karolina and Martyn’s stunning wedding day was an intimate event, with only 50 guests present. However, a small guest list is not indicative of simplicity when it comes to style and theme – this couple organised one of the most beautiful weddings we at Zankyou have ever seen, and were aided in this endeavour by their fantastic photographer Motiejus, whose coverage of the day will leave you inspired and in awe.
With an original, classical theme, Karolina made jaws drop with her perfect dress from Spanish bridal fashion house Pronovias – the detailing of the lace in the bodice was very feminine, and the drama and flair of the skirt is evident in the photos below. And Martyn did not disappoint either, looking dashing in his two-piece fitted burgundy suit with white tie – a combination we have not seen before, but one that we think is very cool! The décor at their wedding was elegant and rich in colour, with some gorgeous floral arrangements – the perfect inspiration for couples in the planning process at the moment.
However, one of the highlights of this day for us at Zankyou is, as aforementioned, the photography. Motiejus paints an intimate portrait of romance and devotion with his camera, using casually staged shots to capture the love between Karolina and Martyn. The soul of an artist is exposed in these photos, with some truly poignant photographs of this wonderful day. Have a closer look now…
