It’s all about equality in Ireland! Every couple intending to get married needs to visit the local Registrar’s Office for a “Three Month Notification of Intention to Marry” appointment. This is typically not a big deal for locals, although it may mean taking the day off of work. For those living outside of Ireland, however, this is a major factor to be considered.
If you are living abroad, you will need to plan on being physically present in Ireland to attend your appointment so be sure to factor this into your planning. You can read all about it on the Irish government website so you arrive prepared.
