I cannot thank you all enough for our wonderfully magical wedding. We knew our venue was amazing, but there is not a word for just how out of this world it actually was’.  Nikki Mayes

This stunning, historic venue is truly unique. Not only is there nothing like it in the world, it also provides a fantastic opportunity to be married in the open air, but remain under cover, safe from the unpredictable British weather.  What an unbeatable backdrop for any wedding!

Situated at the heart of the World Heritage Site, the Roman Baths and Pump Room is without doubt one of the most distinctive buildings in the country. The Roman Baths, steeped in history, with its origins dating back 2000 years, is a truly magical setting that will delight and fascinate your guests. Upstairs in the Pump Room, there is a choice of rooms, and the venue can therefore cater for intimate groups as well as much larger wedding parties for up to 200 guests.

The Great Bath at the Roman Baths museum is continuously filled with hot flowing water. It rises up bubbling and hot from deep underground warmed by the heat of the earth’s core.  On cooler days, ducks occasionally pop in for a dip to warm up!  From the first century AD to the twenty first century, people have been drawn to this place for entertainment and relaxation.  What remains today is a remarkable sequence of Roman, medieval and later structures that give testimony to the continuous use of hot water here over nearly 2000 years.   The ancient Celts worshipped on the site and the Romans built a grand religious spa complex, much of which remains today.  The grand Pump Room above, built in the 1790s, was the focal point of Georgian society and Jane Austen observed people and fashions from within the building.

What could be more romantic and impressive than exchanging your vows amid the flickering torchlight and rising steam from the waters of the Great Bath? A Sunset Wedding, from 7pm, is an enchanting and atmospheric evening, with friends and family gathered on the Roman paving around the waters of the Great Bath. Beyond the classical statues on the Terrace above, Bath Abbey will be illuminated, and there will be steam, flickering torchlight and Champagne – a recipe for a magical evening.  This option suits couples who have 40 guests or more, who would like to follow their ceremony in the magnificent Pump Room or the atmospheric Terrace and Reception Hall.

For couples who want something a little less formal and unique, a morning Sunrise Wedding will provide a truly romantic start to a special day. Perfect for an intimate wedding for two, or a much larger ceremony, couples have the option to continue their celebrations in the delightful Pump Room above.

‘We are just waking up after the most memorable night of our lives.  Thank you to you and all the team. Faultless to the last. Couldn't have asked for a better wedding’. James and Pauline
