Alexander McQueen - Men's Spring Summer 2016 Runway Show

Check out Alexander McQueen's take on one of his menswear's collection for 2016, fashion at its best.

  • Trends

Alexander McQueen has embraced a new influence for his menswear collection this season, exploring the spirit of journeying and solitude. Creating a solid sense of the water world and naval adventure, the lines include images of sailors and wrestlers, the theme of adventure is continued as tattoos are firmly identified as a male habit of mapping his body with identity.

The variety of the collection really makes a statement with the theming and style influence. The trousers are cropped at the ankle and are either classic or in a kick back sailor style and the outerwear consists of oversize trench-coats and bomber jackets. Single or double-breasted suit jackets, as well as pea-coats, have cropped sleeves to reveal the tattooed cuffs of a button down or pyjama shirt. Wool barathea suit jackets have a raw edge finishing the lapels of the garment. The knitwear features distressed nautical stripes or bands of asymmetric ruffles and the shorts have extra volume with triple pleat details.

There are also nautical inspired work-wear trousers and jackets with oversize patch pockets introducing a smart casual line to the collection. Buttons are a specific and popular design feature, visible on the sleeves as well as trouser cuffs.

All in all, a diverse, trendy and new style collection of menswear that is dying to be paraded on the streets.
