Memories beat inside me
like a second heart.
John Banville
A sentiment is nothing but a memory that never stops turning in our minds. That memory must be cared for, worshipped, spoiled. A temple should be dedicated to it, just as one would for a deity. The most beautiful memories of a couple are most certainly related to their wedding day. It is such a distinctive event that it must be assigned to the expert hands of great artists. Today, on the pages of Zankyou, we shall present to you a masterpiece by Luana Aloi: The Wedding of Virginia and Pietro. A modern yet classic mural in the baroque heart of Sicily, created meticulously by Luana, one of the most acclaimed Floral Designers and one of the most renowned Wedding Planners in Southern Italy.
Today we leave the stage to Luana Aloi who personally designed the event. She enjoyed it with a special passion that she wanted to convey to every single reader or future married couple. We leave you to the story of Pietro and Virginia through photographic memories, a dive into luxury, sophistication, and creativity. An open door to the Temple of Memories…
Pietro and Virginia live in Zurich. They decided to complete their love by celebrating their marriage in their beloved homeland: Sicily. A romantic feeling accompanies the entire event, from the choice of Virginia’s dress to the location. The event is totally enveloped by an atmosphere that recalls the Sicilian Baroque style combined with a modern twist. All this embodies the style of a wedding that Pietro and Virginia have always dreamt of. Tradition and romance. The preparations for the big day began in the enchanting 16th century Villa Tasca.
The interior of the building, spacious and bright, is characterised by frescoes and majolica tiles depicting cave drawings. It is a historical dwelling, a family house. There is a living room where guests will be surrounded by the same atmosphere experienced by Jacqueline Kennedy, King Ferdinand of Bourbon, Queen Carolina, Bismarck, and Margherita of Savoy. The garden that protects it is one of the most emblematic gardens of 19th century Sicilian Romanticism.
Virginia wore an enchanting white dress with a romantic cut, embellished at the waist with a touch of lace that enhanced her silhouette. Surrounded by the people closest to her, she prepared herself to face the man of her life, carrying a majestic Mybouquet [brand owned by Luana Aloi] of white lilies of the valley.
The wedding was celebrated at the Cathedral of Monreale. The ceremony caused strong emotions and unforgettable moments for the newlyweds and their guests. These memories will remain imprinted thanks to the love that shines through from the promises that were exchanged in the grand setting of the cathedral, a place that forever sealed their words.
Meanwhile at Villa Tasca, the lights are about to come on for an outdoor dinner. The Tasca family’s historic mise en place is made particularly elegant by golden candelabra with English roses and eucalyptus.
A conservatory was set up as a “Temple of Memories” full of warm, glowing candles to take photographs to remember the occasion.
Guests enjoyed a rich aperitif in the garden and then continued the evening with a dinner featuring typical Sicilian products. The cake was cut, and the newlyweds and their guests immediately began dancing the night away to good music and excellent company.
We would like to thank Luana Aloi again for this beautiful gift. A treasure that we are sure you too will carry with you emotionally forever. We wish Pietro and Virginia all the best.
