The 1920's Meet 2018: Discover Jesús Peiró's 2018 Bridal Collection

Jesús Peiró’s latest collection of wedding dresses for 2018, Metrópolis, is definitely one to remember. Their catwalk show opened in the most grande of ways with designs reminiscent of the canonical The Great Gatsby. Their designs perfectly represented the style of the 1920s, inspired by the art déco style and the modern capital of today, New York.

The attention to detail that can be seen on the delicate fabrics and the veiled transparencies compliment the female body super elegantly, so much so that it’s like they have been taken from the actual period. And, it seems that this collection of designs closely resembles New York’s beautifully structured skyscrapers, with designs that cannot be missed.

What is most impressive about this collection is how the designer manages to combine lightness and volume. The sheer designs produce an elegant movement thanks to the successful combination of different fabrics such as silk and tulle skirts that are paired with lace and transparent bodices.

In some of the designs the lines rest on well structured corsets which hug the bust and refine the figure. Voluminous sleeves and widely shaped skirts give these designs a princess-like effect, making them more regal and impressive.

Other designs incorporated the newest neckline trends, squared necklines and straight lines that emphasise decorated fringes, adorned with rhinestones, making them authentic pieces of art.  Carefully crafted backs, with sparkling interlocked lines, frills on shoulders, all prêt-à-porter trends from the last few seasons that are now making an appearance in bridal fashion.

Long sleeved wedding dresses that play with geometry and fantasy also feature in the collection and are sure to tempt you!

Some of the fabrics feature delicate patterns such as lattices, nets, lace rosettes, marquetry panels and borders that perfectly outline the bride’s figure. The Chantilly on tulle style also produces an effect of depth that is worth showing off.

On the other hand, the plumetis appears amongst the floral embroideries, the soft organzas, the geometric prints, the piqués and cannage, a combination of various different textures. This is without mentioning the smooth satin, silk and sheen fabrics that have proven to be the most popular out of the whole collection.

The biggest obsessions and the details worth highlighting from this 2018 collection by Jesús Peiró are the pearls, pink touches, the gold and jade fabrics and the sparkling fringes that are reminiscent of the 1920s style. A special mention goes to the kimono-like design, a spectacular piece that was paired to perfection with a light-blue and yellow flower crown, which made a significant impression and was loudly applauded by the crowd. A similar reaction was received by the outfit which combined a lace and rhinestone top with a skirt.
