Choosing a theme for your wedding isn’t as difficult as you may think. It all depends on your location and the feel that you want to create. Inspirations can be as romantic and daring as you like. This real wedding transports us into a whimsical world based on the wonderful story of Alice in Wonderland; an atmosphere perfectly complemented by delicate vintage details… which we’re completely obsessed with! With charming colours and vintage touches, this Real Wedding made the most of those wonderful characteristics and features from Alice in Wonderland. This story, that transports us to a magical place where your imagination runs wild was beautifully combined with flowers in vivid tones, butterflies and elements that you’d only ever see in an uber chic bohemian wedding.

The bride opted for a romantic look where a dress with lace detailing was the star of the show. This design, combined with a vintage headpiece and a delicate veil, just added to the romantic style. The groom’s navy classic cut suit, was complemented by a cute bow tie and a traditional white shirt, and we certainly can’t overlook the bridesmaids who wore full length floral dresses, a perfect statement for this bohemian celebration.

For that extra special touch, the couple chose a vintage van as their form of transport for the day. The vivid red interior seats matched the exotic flowers in her bouquet perfectly. To add to the whole theme, the bridesmaids carried delicate bouquets full of gypsophila. Ideal for this dreamy setting!

The religious ceremony took place in a traditional church, where the stained glass windows added a stunning backdrop. As well as the traditional elements of this celebration, the ceremony was also full of romance and a true reflection of the couple’s love story. Upon leaving the church, the couple were showered in petals flying through the air, welcoming them into the world as husband and wife.

You could really get a feel for this playful theme at their wedding reception. The inspiration from Alice in Wonderland really focused itself on all the little touches: playing cards, butterflies and the exquisite array of flowers which can only ever be found in secret gardens. Bottles labelled “drink me” were a fun idea for centrepieces, and the classic typography found in this wonderful story by Lewis Carroll also played its part.
