Who needs a wedding planner when you have creativity? This was Verity and Tom’s thought when they planned every detail of their wedding according to their own tastes – their special day was lovely and unique. Have a read of their wedding story and be inspired by their beautiful photos.
The Proposal…
Verity met her future husband at Henley Royal Regatta where she was working behind the bar for his uncle and he was also working on site. After a flourishing relationship, Tom took Verity to stay in the luxury Capri Palace in beautiful Capri, Italy. To Verity’s surprise, Tom popped the question while they were on a romantic fishing boat on the island’s glistening waters. That evening, they celebrated by dining at We then went to Il Riccio restaurant overlooking Mount Vesuvius, it was the perfect day!
The Planning…
When it came to organising the nitty gritty, Verity and Tom decided that they wanted to source only local suppliers, and thankfully they had a lot of support from family too. The beautiful flowers in the church, marquee and bridal bouquets were sorted by Verity’s mother-in-law, the cake was made by Tom’s sisters and the garden games, such as the croquet, were set up by a team of friends. Verity’s Auntie Jools made the gorgeous bunting that adorned the whole garden.
Verity and Tom met their future photographer, Jasmine Andrews, at another wedding that they attended. They loved her relaxed style and ability to capture the most special moments without being too intrusive.
The Venue…
Verity and Tom decided to have a beautiful marquee wedding, which allowed for welcome drinks on the lawn, garden games and a more relaxed atmosphere. At first they struggled in deciding the size of the marquee to account for bad English weather, but the weekend was perfectly sunny. They decorated the inside with midnight blue lanterns and chair cushions, pastel pink flowers and personal touches such as table names of places that they had been together, and a photo wall. We think it looked lovely!
The Bridal Look…
For Verity’s dress and make-up, she again decided to shop local. She opted for a simple yet elegant gown from Lily Lous Lous. It had ethereal lace sleeves and a figure-hugging silhouette. Verity’s make up was done by Thorne Brides who have a subtle style and were able to enhance her natural beauty.
Verity chose three different pairs of shoes for her wedding weekend from Freya Rose, they were beautiful, comfortable, and ‘something blue’! Her bridesmaids were her nieces, Tom’s niece, her sister and her best friend, and their dresses came from Matchimony. They looked lovely in pale pink!
Verity and Tom’s special day progressed from the church ceremony, to a wonderful reception, with emotional speeches, cutting the cake and the first dance – then to be followed by the all-important party. We hope that their love story endures and that they make many more memories as newlyweds!
