What better way to loose all inhibitions, have some lovely photos to look back on, get to know your photographer who in this case is London Documentary Wedding Photographer Matt Badenoch and enjoy a day with hubby or wifey to be!! Wedding engagement shoots are the new craze and rightly so, they are great ‘test runs’ for so many things and will really enable you to relax and enjoy your day with the trust that all those moment that you might otherwise miss will be captured to look back on for years to come.
We have the pleasure of sharing with you a recent and romantic engagement shoot shot by Matt Badenoch with Naomi and John. They had fun, demonstrated that being camera shy really is all in the head and the result…amazing pictures, a very happy photographer and ecstatic couple.
How did you two meet?
We were at a party in Uganda where we were both working back in 2010. Rather romantically, our eyes locked across a plate of steamed bananas and it was love at first sight. The rest, as they say is history…
Tell us the story of the proposal?
After two ‘fake’ proposals (an attempt by John to ‘calm his nerves’ – he thought it was hilarious, Naomi less so) the unforgettable and long awaited moment took place by a lake in Wales. The proposal itself was a bit of a blur between lots of tears, hugs and intermittent squealing with a final ‘yes!’
What did you enjoy the most about your engagement shoot?
We were in the thick of wedding planning meaning that most of our dates consisted of us and some spreadsheets – the engagement shoot was an excuse to have fun with each other not thinking at all about the wedding and instead remembering why we were getting married at all!
Where and when was the engagement shoot?
Chalk Farm, Primrose Hill & Camden Lock, Wednesday 27th May 2015
What piece of advice would you give to other couples getting ready for their engagement shoots?
Don’t talk about stressful wedding stuff or get into an argument on the way! It makes it harder to take those spontaneous ‘we love each other so much’ shots if you’ve just been bickering about seating plans 😉
What are you looking forward to the most when it comes to your wedding day?
Having everyone we love all in one place at the same time, to celebrate our commitment to one another.
