Michelina and Roberto hosted a gorgeous wedding, Italian style, in the beautiful Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire. Although they didn’t host their wedding in Italy, their big day encompassed all the wonders of their heritage, including the church in which Michelina was baptised. We’re excited to share their lovely photos with you, courtesy of Sanshine Photography.

The couple’s ceremony was extremely special, as it was a service conducted half in English and half in Italian by Roberto’s priest, who surprised them with a joint reading by their witnesses and a certificate blessed by Pope Francis himself! Their venue at Woburn Abbey was breathtaking and majestic, the current home of the 15th Duke of Bedford with 3,000 acres of deer park. It was certainly the perfect place to host a 5-course Italian banquet for 200 guests.

Their aperitivo/drinks reception took place in the private rose garden overlooking the Camellia Lake, made even more spectacular with live music from an accordion player who played lots of Italian classics, as guests enjoyed Prosecco, Aperol Sprite, canapés and sugared almonds and homemade biscotti made by both Michelina and Roberto’s mothers.

The couple worked with one of Hertfordshire’s finest florists, Amie Bone Flowers, to bring their vision of romance and elegance to life. With her expertise, they chose a palette of pinks, raspberry and white, which looked fantastic as centre pieces on the tables in high and low trumpet glasses. The entrance to the rose garden was transformed with candles and rose petals, leaving guests captivated by such beautiful decor.
