Unlike in the past when we have been the ones to recount a couple’s love story, today, for once, the bride herself will be the one telling you about her special day. Here Mariarosaria, Stefano’s gorgeous bride, describes their extraordinary Neapolitan wedding.
“After much anticipation, the big day finally arrived. All that Stefano and I wanted was to celebrate the love we have for one another. We wanted the strength of our love to be the main focus and for it to only be surrounded by simplicity, elegance and the people who we hold most dear to us. We were destined to meet and be together forever. Our story is defined by several, unexplainable and romantic episodes. Normally, a wedding occurs after a proposal where the man gets down on one knee and asks for the hand of his loved one in marriage; for us this happened differently.”
“One day we found ourselves at Villa Andrea Di Isernia as we were curious to find out what made it so famous. As soon as we entered we were left speechless by the beauty of the place. The garden projecting onto a breathtaking view, the colour of the sky, the gulf, Mount Vesuvius, the extreme kindness and enthusiasm of the people who welcomed us, all of this moved us so much that, without hesitation, we said: “This is the place where we will need to get married!” Three days later we returned and fixed the date of our wedding.”
The Preparation
“We have been living in Milan for years and therefore decided to have our wedding away from home; for this reason we chose only people we knew we could trust to organise the event. I am creative, both in my attitude and in my work, cheerful, demanding but extremely romantic. Stefano, is the opposite, however, whilst he is very kind, deep, serious and has a contagious smile. My bridal look was an ivory dress with a lace bodice and wide mikado silk skirt. Simple and elegant, I decided to wear a flower crown made up of English roses and lilies of the valley. I finished off my look with a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes. Stefano’s look was very British-inspired, simple but unique at the same time. He wore a mix of greys in his suit, waistcoat and tie, which contacted because against each other.”
The Ceremony
“A very heart-felt and emotional ceremony, held in the magical Basilica San Francesco Di Paola in Piazza Del Plebiscito. We swore our eternal love for one another in the most beautiful place in Naples, a city that I miss so much.”
The Reception
“After the religious ceremony we were so desperate to get to the Villa that almost all of our photographs took place there, at sunset, by the pool, surrounded by greenery and with the Vesuvius crater in the backdrop. The main feature of the event was one of my greatest loves: flowers. Flowers can always be associated with an emotion, every flower has its own unique and deep meaning, made up of colours and scents that enrich the symbolic value of an important moment: the perfect decoration to represent our love. The room was perfectly set up in an elegant vintage style, (just as I had always imagined it would look in my mind), and was complimented by a delicious dinner. The rest of the evening was spent dancing, with laughter, excellent food and relaxation. Just simple things that if done with the right people and in the right place will remain with you forever!”
