We’re so sad that wedding season is beginning to come to an end, but also excited because that means it’s also the start of wedding shows around the country!
I love a wedding show, and as a once bride-to-be now turned wedding planner and blogger, I’ve been to many a show up and down the country all in the wonderful name of “research”.
Wedding shows are a wonderful thing. Not only do they provide you with lots of ideas and inspiration for your big day, but you can also get to meet suppliers face to face and discuss your budget and various options to enable you to make the best choice to suit you and your tastes. Watching their popular catwalk shows is always my favourite thing, and you never know, you might even spot your dream dress. Suppliers usually give great discounts and preferential rates to anyone booking their services on the day of the wedding shows, so if you’re lucky you might bag yourself a great bargain. You can also mingle with other like minded couples-to-be and swap engagement and wedding planning stories!
From now until February there are literally hundreds of wedding shows and fairs taking place around the UK. From smaller and more intimate fairs at local hotels and art centres in your area to the larger scale UK and National wedding shows. You can also find specialist wedding shows for those couples looking for something specific such as Vintage Wedding Shows, Asian Wedding shows and even Foodie Wedding fairs. There is something for everyone regardless of where you live.
With that in mind, let us list out for you the main events for this year’s wedding shows in the UK:
The North East Wedding Show – 13-14 September 2014 Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle
The Wedding Fair – 20-21 September 2014 Excel, London
The National Wedding Show – 26-28 September 2014 Earl’s Court, London
The Wedding Fair – 26-28 September 2014 EventCity, Manchester
The National Wedding Show – 3-5 October 2014 NEC, Birmingham

The National Wedding Show – 11-12 October Manchester Central, Manchester
The Wedding Fair – 17-19 October Glow, Bluewater
The London Excel Wedding Show – 31 Jan – 1 Feb 2015 Excel, London
With catwalk shows, champagne bars and afternoon tea areas, why not make a day of it and take along your bridesmaids or a group of girlfriends and enjoy a girly day out. You can try on wedding dresses, sample cakes and enjoy lots of pampering freebies that are on offer. Still trying to plan a hen do? Going along to a wedding show is a great way to start any hen weekend. Head to your nearest show or make a weekend of it in London before heading out for dinner and cocktails in the evening.
