Oli and Cat met in Malaysia in 1998, and despite having lived separately around the world, their love has brought them together in London for the past 6 years. Their wedding on the English South Coast in Dorset, was a “destination” wedding for them, their family and friends from all over the world. With an intimate party, the couple were able to accommodate everyone in two beautiful houses which enabled them to share their wedding experience exclusively with their guests. Here are all the details and photos from their beautiful day.
After visiting Dorset, Oli and Cat knew that Symondsbury Manor and The Old Rectory houses were perfect to accommodate their wedding and guests. Their location was close to the beach with plenty to do, making it a travel experience for their loved ones.
Cat found her dress quickly – although she didn’t find what she wanted at her appointment at The Wedding Club in London, she managed to find ‘The One’ two days later with their branch in Birmingham. She found it there in the Raimon Bundo sample sale and took it home straight away. Oli wore a brown suit from Heart & Dagger, and the couple accessorised with flowery ties and red shoes from TkMaxx. While the groomsmen were matching in brown suits, Cat’s bridesmaids wore lovely red dresses.
Although Oli and Cat started planning quite early, finding the right caterer and photographer was stressful, because a lot of them were already booked 14 months or more ahead or were too pricey for their budget. But they were lucky to find an excellent caterer, Matt of Flaming Peaches, whose food was delicious: locally sourced, fresh, imaginative, and beautifully arranged, a wonderful menu designed to their preferences. The couple were able to seat all 55 guests around one big table in their venue, and sharing platters allowed everyone to take what they wanted. Cat and her bridesmaids did their own make up and braided their hair. Then Oli and Cat had their ‘first look’ – a magical moment!
Oli’s friend put them in touch with Jasmine, who became their talented photographer who matched their every need with fun, positivity, creativity, and energy.
We hope that Oli and Cat’s beautiful love story continues, and thank them for sharing the details from their special day with us!
