‘The Story of a Scribe’ is the name of the most recent Styled Shoot photographed by San Shawe of Sanshine Photography, and it might just be the most luxurious, ethereal and beautiful shoot we have seen to date. Inspired by the concept parchment and gold and as if taken from the pages of a fairytale, this shoot is the perfect inspiration for brides looking for the most elegant and opulent wedding day – one that would make even royalty jealous. So read on, and take a glance at these amazing images, and learn more about the wonderful providers who made it possible.
The written word has been a staple of romance ever since the days of Jane Austen, when there were few other ways for lovers to express affection to one another. And nothing is more classic than these rustic parchment papers, and the original inkwell provided by Judy Broad Calligraphy, taking us back to the 18th and 19th centuries, from where the decoration and coordination provided by The New Wonderful was clearly influenced. In much the same way that the decadence of the French courts of Versailles is clear in Vera Wang’s 2019 Fall Collection, this extravagance can be seen here too – but with the most subtle of colour palettes, with pastel pinks, golds and whites adorning the shoot.
The magnificent cakes on show were all provided by the incredible bakers at Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium who are based in Central London. The Emporium was one of the creative minds behind the entire shoot, and must be congratulated for how well they fused the theme of the occasion to their cakes; the ability to print words into the sugar work on the cakes is simply a marvel, and the choice of a rose-gold colour perfectly suits the ostentatiousness of the styled shoot.
And although the exceedingly well-chosen and lush decoration truly makes this Styled Shoot special, credit must also be lent to the wonderful location. One Belgravia is a luxurious London venue, adored and desired by every bride in Britain as the perfect destination for their big day. Inspired by French architecture, with a subtle touch of art-deco in the décor, and with excellent remakes of original features such as the large fireplace, One Belgravia is classical, classy and utterly sophisticated. Indeed, looking at the venue in the photos, you could be forgiven for mistaking it for a palace or estate.
San at Sanshine Photography captured the delicacy of this magnificent shoot with such skill that it appears totally effortless. Her focus on bringing together all of the intricate details into one shot, without it being too much, is admirable, and the use of light adds an extra layer of ethereality and majesty to the setting and the model. There is a sense of true divinity in this shoot, and we are very thankful to San for allowing us to showcase her marvellous photographs.
The flower arrangements were designed and provided by the team at Amie Bone Flowers, and the use of stark white with very pale pastels and greens was the perfect choice for this shoot. And instead of holding back on the floral decoration for the staging of this shoot, Amie Bone Flowers chose to go with an extravagant demonstration of their prowess. Combined with the rose-gold cutlery and fine glassware, this reception get-up creates an air of wealth and modernity, creating a wonderful contrast with the photos from the study.
And last, but certainly not least, the hair and makeup of the model was organised by Botias, an internationally renowned beauty company. Providing a classic smokey eye for the model, and arranging an elegant beehive updo which was perfect to hold the veil, Botias contributed to the luxurious nature of this Styled Shoot in a big way. And with royal customers under their belt, we’re not surprised that they created a look fit for a princess in their preparation for this occasion. And a little extra touch of glamour was provided by Dolce & Gabbana in the shoes.
