Prêt A Porter is a French term meaning “ready to wear”, and ready to wear designs (where you can walk into a store and pick up a beautiful, ready made designer dress or outfit) are a fairly recent thing. Fashion gods such as Dior, Balenciaga, Coco Chanel, Pierre Balmain and Pierre Cardin (to name a few) wanted to expand their tailor made-to-measure designs (known today as Haute Couture) and make their designs more accessible to the public. People who couldn’t afford to have a custom made dress by the designers were suddenly able to pick up a designer outfit off the rail at a much cheaper price.

Prêt à Porter designs soon expanded into bridal wear. Ready to wear bridal gowns are usually very classic, simple designs but created with the most incredible light fabrics and attention to detail. Prêt à Porter bridal has taken 2015 by storm, and in this gallery we want to show you a selection of our favourite off the rail wedding outfits, by perhaps some lesser known designers.

Different styles for different brides and designer creations at a fraction of the price. What’s not to love!
