“The people you love become a ghost inside you” was printed onto a sign in neon during the Valentino catwalk, a phrase with much significance after the saddening news that Karl Lagerfeld passed away last week.

The Dior catwalk impressed us even more this time. The perfect brand to give a voice to feminism and female empowerment, as they have spent years fighting for women’s rights. Phrases such as Sisterhood is global and Sisterhood is forever, taken from the works of the poet Robin Morgan, paraded on the catwalk interspersed with ultra-feminine designs, long skirts and transparencies so characteristic of their brand.

Jumpsuits, bows and frills were highlights in many of the collections, becoming a statement element in the designs from Yves Siant Laurent; with mini-dresses adorned with sequins, masculine shoulders and baggy styles. The bows also were seen on the designs from Elie Saab, giving the perfect amount of elegance to beautiful styles.

With the Tommy Hilfiger catwalk, Tommy x Zendaya, we were transported to the unforgettable 70s. The American designers joined forces with the singer to create a collection inspired by the style of Studio 54. Sequinned jumpsuits, mini-skirts with metallic fabrics, and asymmetric dresses were also popular this year, which took influence from the legendary Grace Jones and PatCleveland.

Don’t miss these beautiful dresses from Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2019/2020.
