With a youthful take on classic cuts, Jenny Yoo has created a collection of graceful and romantic gowns that are ready not only for the aisle, but the runway too. The collection has a sense of timelessness about it too, with an aesthetic that is innovative but also reflects on, and aims to emulate, the time-honoured designs that so many brides are inspired by every year.
Subtlety is the name of the game, and Jenny Yoo plays it well. The Piper dress, for example, enjoys a simple shape with a natural waist and a long skirt; however, it also has hidden pockets – a highly-desired feature for many women nowadays! – and the use of a sharp cut on the bodice’s neckline instead of the traditional round sweetheart-style speaks to its modernity. Similarly, the Blythe dress’ modest appearance is transformed by its open-back and tasteful low neckline. Indeed, an undercurrent of flirtatious femininity is present in every dress in this collection.
Whilst classic, that is not to say that Jenny Yoo does not make use of accessories. Both the Odette and the Presley gowns benefit from beading details, and the inclusion of features such as unstructured bows and illusion insets make this collection unique. Take a closer look!
