The Relais “I Luogo di Pitti - Masseria San Giovanni ” is the ideal location for an exclusive wedding in the marvelous Apulian lands and is one of the most beautiful structures in the first rural park in Italy, the Alta Murgia National Park .
It is located in Altamura , an ancient and majestic city in the province of Bari, on the border with Basilicata, very close to Matera .
The Masseria dates back to the 16th century and displays all the characteristic features of the architecture of the time, from the vaulted rooms on the ground floor to the frescoed halls on the upper noble floor.
To make the structure even more fascinating, the unexpected articulation of its spaces: the loggia, the portico, the church, the neviera, the hypogea, the amphitheater and the rooms where you can stay.
The hosts will be able to warmly welcome you by sharing their love for the area and its scents, enhancing the rich food and wine, cultural, archaeological and landscape heritage.

We had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding in this location on December 15th 2022 and everything was magnificent. Thanks to the professionalism and availability of all the staff but above all of Matteo, Mattia and Maria, congratulations for the extreme precision in managing the lunch times and for the constant presence. The success of our marriage is only due to the excellent work done. I PLACES OF PITTI is a magical place: excellent food, enchanting, refined and elegant location and unique atmosphere...you have given us a real dream!!! You will remain forever in our hearts. We got married on June 1, 2022.
It's not for everyone to fulfill the wishes of a demanding bride, attentive to every detail from the position of the napkin to the activities for the children, from the difficult theme of marriage to the herbal tea corner! But I assure you that that day that bride was very serene, relaxed and everything went in the best possible way thanks to the fantastic organizational support and even more of the great Matteo as well as the attentive right-hand man of Mattia and all the wonderful family of Pitti Places ( Luigia and all the girls who especially took care of the bride's thousand attentions). Beautiful location with an unexpected totally summery climate that allowed us to have the dessert and cake moment outside! Attention to every detail! Excellent food, well presented and plentiful (but without falling into excess)! We received compliments from all the guests present especially from the many coming from the north! At the end of the reception we spouses with parents and siblings stayed overnight in the structure's relais; here too attention to detail, cleanliness, excellent convivial breakfast the next day ... and a suggestive atmosphere!
If we could, we'd still only respond to Pitti Places!
We got married on December 9, 2022 with a civil ceremony in the fascinating setting of the hypogeum of "The Pitti Places". The Masseria is wonderful, immersed in a unique landscape. Great food. Really super staff, Mr. Matteo and Mattia will always remain in our hearts, not only for their inevitable professionalism but also for their great humanity. I stayed with my guests, before and after the wedding, in the structure. Beautiful rooms. We can't help but thank them again Super recommended!
