The Rocca di Narni is a defensive structure built in 1367 on the orders of Cardinal Egidio Albornoz, who had several fortifications built to strengthen papal rule in central Italy in the 14th century. This imposing structure, located in a strategic position less than 1km from the historic center of Narni, still retains its original structure with four towers and walls that enclose a courtyard accessible through a suggestive portal.
Starting from 1 May 2023, the Rocca Albornoz in Narni becomes the seat of the SAM (Street Art Museum) , a museum of arts and urban expressions directed by Stefano Antonelli and Gianluca Marziani. SAM is the first museum in the world to house a permanent collection of works by Banksy, the famous British artist known for his street art. The collection consists of about 30 works including the famous "Girl with Balloon". In addition to Banksy's works, the museum also houses a permanent collection of works by other major national and international urban artists, including Haring, Basquiat, Blu, Vhils, Obey, Kaws, C215, Invader, Sten and Lex, Ozmo and many more .
The Narni Fortress also offers the possibility of celebrating the civil ceremony of civil unions on site, choosing from the various areas available.
Furthermore, the Banksy room of the Rocca can be used for the wedding reception, making the wedding day unique thanks to the encounter between the antiquity of the Rocca and modern art. It is also possible to choose to serve dinner in the Court or in the Secret Garden. After cutting the cake, the party can continue with music and a cocktail bar.
