Your own castle and island
Getting married in your own castle. That is possible at Duurstede Castle. It is one of the oldest castles in the Netherlands and is located on a historic castle island. This island is exclusively available during the big day.
The atmosphere
The castle has an attractive covered courtyard that is perfect for cutting the wedding cake or for a relaxing drink or champagne toast. Of course your yes requires an environment that is at least as inspiring. For example, you can get married in the romantic arbor!

The castle also appeals to the imagination inside. Vaulted ceilings, historic fireplaces and chandeliers form a beautiful backdrop for your dinner, buffet, reception and / or party. The party
Take the Bisschoppenzaal, for example, located on the fifth floor of the keep. Ideal for a spectacular evening party with music. From this room you have a beautiful view over the castle island, including the surrounding castle park with trees of more than one hundred and fifty years old. And that in a quiet location, far from traffic and noise. This historic location with its old walls, towers, moat and drawbridge lends itself to a perfect photo shoot.

We went here early this year. it seemed to us not very atmospheric. And unfortunately they could not meet our wishes. If you have a lot of people you have to celebrate the party or 3 floors.
We have visited this location first and it looks so enchanting ....

Incredibly beautiful castle, especially on the inside. Very nice that you can keep all parts of the day somewhere else and that the dinner and party are spread over different floors. This must suit the public, which in our case would not be the case in our estimation. Don't be put off by the ruin-like exterior. This castle is definitely worth a visit. Pricey, little possible in terms of discount because there is a catering company in charge of the rental and they really work with fixed prices. That's too bad.
