Hi, I’m Julia.  In a nutshell, I am, Julia Tasker Bridal Couture. I own and run my small, but beautifully bespoke bridal boutique here in South Cumbria, just 5 minutes walk from Lake Windermere. I’m also a wife, a mother of one and have a passion for wedding dresses.

My journey in bridal began at an early age, when I was given my first sewing machine by my parents at the age of 5. I grew up watching my mother create beautiful bespoke wedding dresses for brides, so you could say, bridal is in my blood. I’ve always had a love for fashion and weddings, so it was inevitable that I would take a similar route.

Knowing that I would take a professional path in fashion, I graduated from university with a BA Hons degree in Fashion Design in 1991. I then went onto work for a number of design houses, including Burberry and Coats Viyella, but wedding dresses have always been my passion. So in 1998 I started my own business in Cumbria, designing and creating bespoke wedding dresses from my home based studio.

In February 2010 I finally took the plunge, followed my dream, and opened my own bridal boutique - Julia Tasker Bridal Couture, here in the heart of the Lake District.

Here at the boutique I continue to offer my Couture Service – designing and creating completely bespoke wedding dresses for brides to be, as well as stocking selected handpicked collections by the best in British bridal design. Designers who have the same ethos as myself; to provide brides with a high level personal service, as well as offering wedding dresses created to the highest quality, using the finest of fabrics.

I offer one to one appointments which usually take around 1-2 hours. I like to get to know brides and to hear about their exciting plans for their upcoming Wedding Day, as this helps me to assist them in finding their wedding dress.
