That among its illustrious visitors is the famous English captain James Cook, geographer, mapmaker and discoverer, who stayed at the estate at the beginning of August 1776.
One of the main reasons he chose to stay at this estate was because it was owned by his Scottish friend Mac-kay. And furthermore, from the same house he could make out the Endeavor, his three-masted brig, anchored in the Santa Cruz harbor.

It is a great place although the only drawback is that in winter you have to dress warm. The food can be improved but even with all that, we recommend it.
