The Castle Complex
Suspended over a wild territory like an eagle's nest, the Castle of Gropparello (8th-13th century) strikes visitors for the turreted grouping of the monumental complex, which during the visit offers the eye an alternation of scenically different panoramic views . With an irregular plan due to the roughness of the ground, the Castle represents an example of the art of medieval fortification, placed to defend the access road to the valley, it stands on a large ophiolitic area with a ravine that descends to the Vezzeno stream, and which makes the manor unassailable. It is surrounded by a 15-hectare park, within which there are the magnificent Vezzeno Gorges with the famous Celtic altar, and the Museum of the Nascent Rose, which has more than 1500 rose plants. In the park of the Castle there is a small rural village set on several levels surrounded by a park of linden trees, olive trees and grape pergolas, with rose gardens. It is a complex of farmhouses, pavilions and halls which are normally also used for receptions. Luminous scenography at the Castle In the evening the castle has a lighting on the facade of the drawbridge dominated by the colors blue, yellow and white, with the main avenue of fastigiated ash trees that leads up to the stone knights of the drawbridge, illuminated by ground lamps .

What can I say, the Castle of Gropparello is a unique and enchanting place. In our hearts since we were children, thanks to the fantastic Parco delle Fiabe, the first emotional park in Italy, we wanted to rediscover that fairy-tale atmosphere for our wedding. One year later, we are more than ever convinced that we have made the right choice.
Rita and her staff (first of all Chiara, fundamental help and support for us) know how to accompany the spouses in planning their big day with passion and creativity, demonstrating experience and precious contacts in the wedding sector.
We have chosen to have the civil ceremony directly on location and then appetizers and dinner with a historic menu, made up of true Renaissance recipes cooked by Rita herself together with the chef of the castle. If you like the idea, it's a choice that I recommend with enthusiasm because it gives added value to the experience, allowing the bride and groom and their guests to experience something never experienced before. Unusual, interesting and, by all accounts, exquisite flavours. Our guests were amazed and enchanted by the atmosphere created.

The location is wonderful: the castle is immersed in the hills of Piacenza and the atmosphere is nothing short of amazing.
The food is excellent, but what adds further value is the castellana Rita with her staff.
