Elsa Langlasse is a professional wedding photographer and founder of Blossom & Co. What is wedding coaching®?
Wedding coaching® provides personalised support for couples in the run-up to their big day. We say “personalised” because ahead of preparations, Elsa takes the time to really get to know her couples. “Whether it’s over Skype with my international clients, over the phone, or more often than not over a coffee or Diet Coke, I discuss couples’ ideas with them, their visions, their hopes, their wishes, but also, more importantly, their worries, fears, and anxieties. From there, we draw up a personalised plan of action for their big day, taking into account all of these elements, as well as other variables including family disputes, matters of budgeting, travel arrangements, timings, and contingency plans. The aim of these sessions is to respond to each individual need at a suitable time, to provide tailored responses and solutions as well as keeping stress levels to a minimum during this preparation-heavy period.”

Before turning her passion for photography into a career, Elsa Langlasse worked as a psychologist and life coach. Drawing upon these experiences, she is well-versed in addressing couples’ concerns and coming up with solutions – an invaluable skill when working in a support role.
“After working as a psychologist and life coach, and having been passionate about photography my entire life, three years ago I decided to marry these two passions to create an entirely new entity: Blossom&Co photo video event. I got married four years ago, and cherish wonderful memories of my wedding day. However, it has to be said, I also have a few regrets. Basically, I would have loved to have had more support, more help with my organisation, more reassurance when I voiced my concerns or got particularly stressed, so that the big day really reflected both my image and our image as a couple.
Introducing this new service to France is largely a result of the time Elsa has spent working in the States and the UK. “Covering over thirty weddings around the world every year, I decided to offer wedding coaching after a lot of both personal and professional reflection. The concept is enjoying enormous success across the Atlantic and the Channel, and still didn’t exist over here, so I decided to bring it to France and to turn it into a brand.”
What does a typical wedding coaching® session entail?

“So many brides wrestle with the cliché: ‘I want everyone to be happy and enjoy the wedding!’, even if it means side-lining their own wishes to the point of forgetting about them completely. Bride to be: this day belongs to you and your partner, not your guests! (Mum and mother-in-law have already had their big days!) Figuring out what you want is integral to organising your wedding, but also important for you, so that you don’t begin a new chapter of your life with regrets.”

It’s the little details of your personality which make you you: Elsa pays attention to them so that she can answer your questions and create a wedding which resembles you: “Essentially, with our experience we know which ideas work and which aren’t as good as they sound! 3- You immediately learn how to deal with “Bridezillas” or any other overbearing personalities in your wedding party.
Are you worried about tensions between separated members of your family? Or perhaps your mother-in-law a little too interfering, and you’re not sure how to handle the situation diplomatically. Elsa is also there to consult when it comes to delicate situations. “No family is perfect, it’s all about listening and understanding so that you can ultimately come to accept each other. The dynamic of a wedding relies on communication, and the handling of emotions and expectations. If needed, this is something we work on during sessions.”

“You’re really calm and relaxed because we’ve run through every tiny detail of the day together, fine-tuned to your wishes. What’s more, we already know each other really well at this point – we’re like two close girlfriends. This bond that we’ve developed together is key to the natural quality of the photos. I capture who my subjects really are because of my work – and it makes such a difference.”
