Two Royal Wedding Cakes for William and Kate

One of the royal wedding cakes will be made from McVitie's chocolate digestives

I think you know by now how much we at Zk love food…and wedding food especially. So, much joy rippled through the Zankyou office when we found out that Prince William and Catherine Middleton are going to have not one, but TWO WEDDING CAKES to celebrate their marriage!

Wedding fruit cake

A traditional fruit cake, made by Fiona Cairns, will be the main cake. Multi-tiered and combining cream and white as the only colours, the cake will also feature the flowers of the home nations – an English rose, an Irish shamrock, a Scottish thistle and a Welsh daffodil.

But the second cake, while perhaps not as grand, definitely sounds amazing. Baked to a secret Buckingham Palace recipe, made from McVities chocolate digestives.

Watch this video for a sneak peak of how the chocolate biscuit cake will be made!

Paul Courtney, of McVitie’s, said: “The recipe was given to us by the Palace and we’ve been sworn to secrecy. I’d love to be able to tell you, I really would. But, it’s a royal secret.”

Yummy! What kind of wedding cake flavour would you have?
