Young international designers are paving the way for future trends in bridal fashion at this years International Bridal Fashion Fair, Interbride. At this event, which will take place from June 25th-27th in Germany’s fashion capital Dusseldorf, up and coming designers will have the opportunity to present their work to the fashion world.
Interbride 2016
One of the purposes of the Interbride fair is that up and coming designers have the chance to meet and mingle with experts in the bridal fashion world. It’s a fair not just aimed at those in Germany, but also designers throughout Europe and worldwide.
Current collections and all of the latest trends will be presented at the fair in Dusseldorf. It is with out a doubt an amazing oportunity for young designers worldwide! Interbride is a unique platform which allows designers to showcase themselves and their talents, giving them that all important first step into the bridal fashion world.
All of the participants share the same love and passion for fashion. They are armed and ready to present their designs to manufacturers, retailers, and most importantly the media as this is their one oportunity to get themselves noticed in the big bad world of fashion.
This fair, in which the designers will present their collections for today’s modern woman, will be a stepping stone for many who are just beginning their careers. The designs will be carefully examined by a judging panel with regards to innovation, viability and creativity, with the best ones being rewarded.
2015 Winners
“Modern designs combined with luxurious elegance”; this is how AmbacherVIDIC, the young designers from Hamburg, describe their collections. Brides-to-be throughout Germany have fallen in love with their made to measure dresses! The collections from Eleni Vidic & Jochen Ambacher caught the attention of spectators at last year’s show, thanks to their clean cut designs and extraordinary silhouettes.
When asked about their experience with Interbride 2015 the response was quite emotional. “We were able to get to know various designers throughout Germany which was fantastic. Being able to experience first hand how the cost of a collection is calculated was also wonderful. From learning about choosing the right fabrics and styles to launching a ready-to-wear collection, the experience was incredible.” – AmbacherVIDIC
The experienced designer, Barbara Weigand, came to the fashion industry after having worked as a textile designer and having been the owner of a gallery for many years. In 2008 she created her first fashion line in Munich, focusing on the use of different high quality and innovative fabrics. Her firm is known as, IOSOY and prdes itself in creating diverse and innovative designs.
When asked what has changed in her life since winning Interbride last year, she answered that it has been an incredible opportunity and journey for IOSOY. Being able to sell her designs to brides-to-be worldwide is a dream come true.
Among the young designers from last year, the London firm Dajana Basic London was the star of the show with their modern designs. Since early childhood the designer has lived and breathed fashion! It is this love for creativity and design that has been a great influence in her career, allowing her to create an innovative collection of wedding dresses with a feminine and elegant touch.
“Sadly we unable to attend the event personally, however we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Our latest Peony collection was sent from London to Dusseldorf. It was such an honour to be among the winners! We had the opportunitiy to get in touch with many industry experts in London and they had a very positive reaction to the brand.” – Dajana basic London.
Since 2005, Atelier Liebesban has caught the attention of more and more brides-to-be throughout Europe thanks to the wide array of wedding dresses. Designer Mike Akdogan knows exactly how to use upcoming fashion trends to win of the hearts of modern brides.
According to the designer, “Interbride is a great way to establish contacts within the bridal fashion world. I had the pleasure of meeting different providers in the sector, taking part in an event like this is always a marvellous experience”.
