More collections. And this time it’s Reem Acra’s turn. Will she have the big skirts of years gone by in her new Reem Acra 2011 bridal collection? Let’s find out…

Reem Acra Spring 2010 was all about big skirts, Reem Acra Fall 2010 brought it all down a little in tone and structured things differently with a semi-Oriental look.

This year, the Reem Acra 2011 bridal collection brings us prettiness, as usual, a couple of big skirts and a beautiful trumpet piece, but it’s all softer much softer and a little fun too. Strapless dresses are the name of the day, and like her contemporaries, Jenny Packham and Vera Wang, the fabrics are left to speak for themselves in many ways, with the softness of tulle and the smoothness of silk complemented by some beautiful structures and folds.

There’s a cool pelmet, which sits over a long skirt that can then be removed to make a short skirt (genius!). Structured bodices are coupled with skirts that surely carry look like they’re made of lengths and lengths of fabric, just thanks to the volume they gather. And then the floral appliques, making everything just a little more feminine for the Reem Acra bride.
