Despite not being particular fans of virtual encounters, that is exactly how Mickaël and Fabien met and since began writing their perfect love story. Today, we bring you their lovely wedding in the Gironde, France – the preparations of which have been a succession of beautiful events. A moving and convivial marriage, immortalised by the photographic talents of Isabelle Dohin.
The Meeting
“We met on the internet! Initially we weren’t very comfortable with this type of meeting but we were lucky, and we fell in love pretty quickly thereafter!”
The Proposal
“It was a total surprise! It happened on a beach that we both love after dinner. It couldn’t have been more magical.”
The Preparations
“The wedding preparations took a little more than a year. We didn’t really want to spend that much time on it, but we soon realised that we had no choice but to ride the wave! The advantage of working over several months is being able to do things as you go, taking the time to meet people and personalise your big day. We first met the owner of Domaine de la Dame Blanche, the beautiful place where the wedding took place. We went to see it and very quickly fell in love. We had a very nice exchange with the owner and didn’t need to visit any other places. And throughout the preparations, it was the same thing: we had very good exchanges with our suppliers and other professionals in the region. We also had an army of witnesses, extraordinary friends who all invested enormous amounts of time and energy to make this day the most beautiful one we would ever have and to alleviate as much of our stress as possible. As a result, we were obviously anxious on the days leading up to the big day, but not at all stressed.”
The Big Day
“It was very moving, original, funny and festive! Our photographer Isabelle Dohin followed us closely and ended up giving us beautiful photos that everybody was delighted with. Sophie Gomes of Eden Fleurs really invested herself personally to decorate the venues beautifully. Marc Rosa set our cocktail party to music and got all the guests of all generations up and dancing! For catering we used the Maison Dulou, who completely seduced our guests with the quality and modernity of their service. The excellent wines came from neighboring castles (Les Clauzots, Nogues). Only champagne (Bourgeois-Boulonnais) came from the Champagne region. We also met the owners, passionate winegrowers, and visited the wineries. Finally, the rosé (castle Montgros) came from the region of Beziers. To accompany the children, we called on animators of Anim’en’Foliz. They played pirates and princesses while doing a treasure hunt around the castle, and the kids were thrilled! In the end, everything went above and beyond our expectations.”
