A destination wedding is a total win in our eyes as it doubles up as a fantastic holiday surrounded by your loved ones. It really makes for a grand once in a life time celebration. And this one is the ultimate backdrop for a fabulous day. We are talking the stuff dreams are made of, just take a look at the gorgeous photos by Barney Walters which totally up the ante and set you up for a huge a dose of wedding envy!
The Couple
Danielle and AJ were introduced by mutual friends and initially Danielle was adamant that she wasn’t interested, but thankfully AJ persisted and she fell for his charms. It was a love story that was meant to be!
The Proposal
This was a romantic Christmas proposal with added cuteness as it involved their baby daughter! AJ had their daughter’s bib personalised with “Mummy will you marry my Daddy?” Danielle was totally taken by surprise by AJ’s proposal, but suffice to say there was no hesitation!
The Dress
For most of us, picking out something to wear on a Saturday night can be a big enough challenge so for your big day there’s a heck of a lot at stake. Especially when there’s masses of dresses to choose from. Danielle really did her homework and had a pretty clear idea of what she was looking for before she headed to her local boutique. She went for a stunning Justin Alexander figure flattering fishtail number which had everyone swooning, paired with some gold Jimmy Choos. The groom was so taken aback when her saw her on the big day, that as you can see from the photos he even shed a tear or two!
The Venue
They chose to marry in Skiathos, Greece in honour of AJ’s Mother, whose favourite place it was and who sadly passed away seven years ago. The experience was incredible as their ceremony was held at a beautiful vantage point right at the edge of the warm blue waters of the Mediterranean. Everything at their venue was taken care of with the highest standards of service. And the best thing for the couple was seeing all their close family and friends gathered together to celebrate their love.
The Moment
For Daniella the most defining moment of the day was when she was saying her vows. A truly emotional moment. The most memorable moment for AJ was that just as Daniella walked towards him a huge ferry went past, but it didn’t steal her moment at all because Danielle rolled with it and saw the funny side, smiling and waving at the passers by. Happy hearts all around!
