One of the things I most love about London, is its cosmopolitan vibe and how it can bring people together from all around the world. My Spanish parents met and fell in love in London 46 years ago, so I love it when I come across other couples that have done the same.
Photographer Louise Bjorling loved hearing the story of how Josh and Ewa met. “It’s sort of a reflection of what London is about, where people from all over the world just happen to meet”.
American Josh was “just” going down his local pub for a pint with his house mates. He had no intention whatsoever of actually meeting someone that night and recalls that he was looking particularly scruffy that day! He had no idea that his future wife, Ewa from Poland, would be taking part in a salsa class on that particular night in his local pub. The rest as they say… is history.
Following their romantic proposal, Josh and Ewa wanted to capture this special time in their lives with a personalised engagement shoot in the city that brought them together.
The autumnal shoot began around the magnificent grand buildings of the Naval college in Greenwich then moved on to beautiful Greenwich park. Ewa looked incredibly elegant in a stunning, navy blue, floor length dress and Josh didn’t look quite as scruffy as when they first met in his smart blazer and casual jeans!
The couple then became true London tourists with a sightseeing boat tour on the Thames. Finally, a nostalgic stroll through cool Southwark took them to them to where they first met… The Horse and Stables pub.
Something that really made us smile was that Ewa remembered exactly what top she was wearing on that particular evening when she met Josh… how adorable is that! So after shooting at a few locations that really captured their love story and the real essence of London, the photo shoot ended at “their favourite pub”, with Ewa wearing the same top that she was wearing when she met Josh. All together now… awwwww
We heart London and we love engagement shoots, so what better way to spend our Friday?!
