How much does being a wedding guest set you back?

Our friends at ChilliSauce are specialists in hen and stag nights, as their guest post on the Ultimate Hen Party checklist shows. But they’re also specialists in thinking about you guests!

You’ve just received an invitation to another wedding. While you really want to go, you need to take on board the costs of attending a wedding. Luckily, Chillisauce has come up with the definitive list of costs for a wedding guest and we’re looking at at least £500 (and at most a staggering £800!) between clothes, travel, accommodation and another few essential elements.

We at Zankyou pretty much coincide with the gift amounts, bearing in mind that the annual average contribution made to UK wedding lists in 2011 came to £85. What about the other costs? Is this what you spent the last time you went to a wedding?

Thanks to our friends at ChilliSauce for the info. And if you have received an invitation through the post over the last couple of days, remember, you don’t need to break the bank with the clothes at least, thanks to these high-street recommendations from Zankyou!
