Boat neck wedding dress

Eat your heart out Audrey Hepburn. Boat neck dresses don’t just flatter our favourite Hollywood icon – they also look great on brides! Especially good for brides with narrower shoulders or longer necks, boat neck (or ‘bateau neck’) dresses draw attention to a very feminine and sensuous part of the female body without the risk of being too revealing.

They can either be cut straight across the shoulder, thus allowing any straps or sleeves to rest just below the shoulder line and just above the bust, or can be higher, thus revealing the whole of the bride’s arms and skimming her collar bone.

As this cut favours the shoulders and neck area, short haircuts go particularly well with this style, as do up-dos for longer haired brides.
