Oscar De La Renta Spring 2012 Bridal Wear

The name Oscar de la Renta is synonymous with fashion. He is a household name not only in the U.S. but also throughout the world. Already a fashion icon for several decades, De La Renta continues to delight us with his wedding dresses year after year. The Spring 2012 Bridal Collection in particular, hot of the press from our Zankyou friends in the States, comes as a surprise with its wide range of styles for all types of brides.

Diverse Bridal looks from Oscar De La Renta

Like many other designers, Oscar De la Renta has expanded his ready-to-wear collection to add a Bridal collection that shows twice a year. One for Spring/Summer and the other for Fall/Winter.

As an experienced designer De la Renta knows what the modern day bride wants and has succeeded to cater for everyone is his latest bridal collection.

The collection has a distinctive feminine feel with white organza and tulle heavily featured. However, his use of trousers in one look offers a modern spin on traditional bridal attire and suits the currently fashionable androgynous trend as featured by Dolce and Gabbana and many other designers.

Another key trend this season is the floral feel which is also featured by De la Renta in this collection. The use of floral headbands, lily of the valley detailing and peasant style blouses created a festival vibe yet with a sophisticated and grown up feel.

Also featured are short wedding dresses which would appeal to younger brides but would also work wonderfully in the transition from day to evening.  Dresses, ladies, which are perfect for the altar and the dance floor, alike!

SILK FAILLE LILY-OF-THE-VALLEY EMBROIDERED STRAPLESS GOWN

This season keep an eye out for two piece dresses which are currently very chic and on trend. De la Renta has featured many in this collection which is testimony, yet again that he has the eye to spot a trend.

The two piece is also very flattering and can work very well on most shapes. For example, if you are a pear shape then choose a gown which is heavily embroidered on the bust to highlight your smaller features. This look is all about proportion therefore, pick something which will draw the eye to your best features.

Upon reflection there is nothing ground breaking about this particular collection however, what it does succeed to do is appeal to everyone. Some may not favour trousers on a bride however, if you do, De la Renta can design them beautifully. Some may not like too much embroidery or fuss, and if you don’t, De la Renta can do simple too. Whatever you like, whatever you desire, Oscar de la Renta’s 2012 collection will not let you down.
